Food subscription boxes have taken the at home cooking world by storm. Various companies will organize, pack, and send you healthy dinner options from anywhere between 2-6 servings. I have been ever so curious about the food subscription box world so I decided to try meals from 3 different companies and here are my thoughts!
Over the past 3 months, I have tried these popular meal delivery subscription boxes: Home Chef, EveryPlate, and Hello Fresh. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste, quality, and serving sizes of all of my meals. Keep reading to find out the pros and cons of each company and how to TRY these meal subscriptions for a great price!
In my opinion, the best value (taste, quantity, ease of preparation) was EveryPlate. While EveryPlate is not the cheapest overall option I found it to be the best tasting and have the most leftovers. I also found that the trial cost for EveryPlate was significantly cheaper than the others.
All in all, I will not keep using meal box subscription services because the overall price is MUCH more expensive than traditional grocery shopping. While the ease, convenience, and lack of waste of the boxes are appealing the portion size does not work for me and my husband. My husband takes leftovers to work for lunch and unless we upgraded to the 4 serving plans we would not have any leftovers.
I do think that TRYING these companies is WELL WORTH the cost! Especially because the trial promos are a great deal for the quality and amount of meals you get. I used promo codes to try each company out and in return received discount codes to share with others. As always, be sure you cancel quickly after your trial period to avoid being charged the full amount.
